Listed on China 1st batch of 20 pilot CSP projects, CPECC Hami 50MW molten salt tower CSP plant has been started construction earlier this September, and expected to be completed by the first half of 2019.
The project is developed by state-owned company China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation (CPECC) and the EPC contract was awarded to its subsidiary Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Company (NWEPDI), who has been devoted to CSP design R&D since 2007 and become one of the leaders in China CSP industry.
With total investment of RMB 1.58 billion, the Hami 50MW plant is the only one located in Xinjiang Province CSP pilot project. Besides EPC, other biddings on solar concentrating system, turbine, steam generation and power equipment have been completed.
As introduced above, Northwest Electric Power Design Institute, as the Hami project EPC contractor is among the leading power plant designing companies in China and owns quite a lot of experience in CSP system design. NWEPDI have been participating more than half of the 1st batch 20 pilot CSP projects as feasibility study institute and engineering consultant etc.
During the upcoming CSP Focus China Tour on Nov 5-14, the delegation will fly to Xi’an city and pay a deep visit to the institute, communicating on their CSP designing experience, Hami 50 CSP pilot project progress and possible cooperation opportunities.
In the 10 day tour, the delegation will also get opportunities to visit other CSP pilot plant developers & EPCs including Shouhang IHW, Supcon Solar, Royal Tech CSP, Rayspower, Jiangsu Xinchen, and North China Power Engineering Institute etc. And the delegation will also fly to Dunhuang, west China, to have a close eye on the operational 1st phase of 10MW CSP plant, and the 2nd phase of 100MW CSP plant under construction, both are developed by Shouhang IHW Energy Saving Company.
