CSP has obvious and unique advantage compared with PV, wind power and other new energy. The three phase alternating current CSP generates can access to the grid directly, also the thermal storage characteristic can be used to achieve sustainable power generation, which makes fire power and nuclear power generation may be completely replaced in the future. Besides, each segment of the whole CSP industry chains is low-polluted and low energy consumption. So, a lot of people in the industry have high hopes for solar-thermal power generation.
According to “Energy Technology Perspectives 2010” released by the International Energy Agency (IEA), by 2050, CSP would provide 11.3% of global electricity amounts to 1.089 billion KW installation capacities. But, before April this year, the solar-thermal power installed capacity was only 1.7027 million KW.
The industry experts point that the solar-thermal power generation industry chain is very long. And it can promote the development of many other industries. It can not only promote the development of energy industry such as the Heat-collecting tube, reflecting mirror, boiler, energy storage materials, gas generator, etc; but also the development of the basic industry like glass, steels, cement, etc. In order to promote the development of the solar-thermal power generation industry, the government is expected to unveil new policy about the standard power price of solar-thermal power generation.
At the same time, the rapid improvement of the solar-thermal power generation technology is needed to lower the generation cost. The Ministry of Science and Technology point that the global cost of solar-thermal power generation is 0.2 euro/KWH now. But in 2020, the cost is expected to lower to 0.05 euro/KWH.
So, National Alliance For Solar Thermal Energy，MOST, China National Renewable Energy Center (CNREC),CCPIT Pudong Sub-Council, International Solar Energy Society （ISES）jointly host a high-level international exhibition and summit forum for the first time, aiming at attracting advanced enterprises, technology and equipment’s in the field of solar-thermal power generation at home and abroad to exhibit and communicate together.
At the same time, the domestic and foreign industry experts will be invited to discuss the new technology and the supervisors from relevant government departments will be invited to discuss the political support of the solar-thermal power generation.
