The 100 MW Melton Salt Tower CSP project in Gansu, China is now open for bid. The project, located in Jinta District, City of Jiuquan, Gansu Province, China, owned by China Three Gorges New Energy Co., Ltd. is one of the first batch of 20 Demonstration CSP Projects. Till now the there are 8 tenders competing for the 100MW project, CSPPLAZA correspondent reports.
The bid opening date was previously scheduled on June 13th, but was rearranged to today (June 28th).
The 8 tenders are as follows:

Harbin Turbine Co., Ltd.
The thermal storage time is set to 10 hrs, 11hrs or 12hrs, according to which tenders can adopt their tender solutions. The bidder has also set the prices of these three thermal storage time spans with a summit no more than 2.75 billion CNY. Any bidding plan that costs more than 2.75 billion CNY will not be accepted. The bidding prices given by current 8 tenders are mostly between 2.6 billion~27 billion CNY. Due to different thermal storage time choices, these prices may not carry too much information for us, but CSPPLAZA correspondent learns that most of the tenders have chosen the 12 hr solution plan.
After releasing the opening, the bidder will evaluate the tender plans with integrating grades, among which the grade of price will depend on the founding rate per kWh.
This is the second 100MW melton salt tower CSP project opening for bid, following the Yumen Melton Salt Tower CSP Station Project owned by Beijing Guohua Power Co., Ltd. There were 6 tenders competing for the Yumen project while 8 now for this one. With more tenders and closer tender prices, it comes bigger competition stress and smaller certainty of the final winner.
The 100 MW Melton Salt Tower CSP project with a planned construction area of 12.95 kilometer square, is located in Jinta District, City of Jiuquan, Gansu Province, China. It is owned by China Three Gorges New Energy Co., Ltd. and also one of the first batch of 20 Demonstration CSP Projects. The brand-new station is planned to be built within one construction period and combined to grib via a 110kV line.
