Abengoa is currently constructing the first Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plant in Latin America in Chile’s Atacama Desert.

Abengoa SA is in talks with mining companies to develop a second Concentrated Solar Power (CSP)  plant in Chile, Ivan Araneda, who heads Abengoa’s solar business in Chile, said.

Abengoa is currently constructing the first Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plant in Latin America in Chile’s Atacama Desert.

Abengoa submitted an environmental study for the $1.2 billion-Atacama II solar project on Dec. 18. The Atacama I unit will be ready in April 2017. The Seville, Spain-based company is seeking a 100 million euro ($110.3 million) loan from the German bank KfW.
