A company veteran, Venetos will continue to help advance deployment of Areva Solar’s proven solar thermal product offerings.
AREVA Solar announced the promotion of Milton Venetos as the company’s new Sr. Vice President, Product Management. Formerly Vice President, Systems Engineering at AREVA Solar, Venetos now manages the company’s global concentrated solar power (CSP) product lines.
“With his engineering acumen, strong and diverse background in the power sector, and prior accomplishments at AREVA Solar, we are excited to have Milt take on this new leadership role within our global team,” said Bill Gallo, CEO of AREVA Solar. “Milt will play a key role in defining key customer value propositions for our turnkey, solar thermal solutions.”
“It’s a great honor and opportunity to lead product development of AREVA’s best-in-class CLFR solar steam generators and to help power generation and industrial steam customers compete in today’s global energy marketplace,” said Venetos.
Prior to his new position, Venetos led the development of AREVA Solar’s proprietary performance modeling systems. He also provided application engineering support to the commercial team for power and industrial steam projects around the world. He has served the energy industry since 1993, specializing in the creation and use of modeling software packages for product development, asset management, and custom energy solutions for a broad spectrum of energy applications.
He began his career at Enter Software (now part of General Electric) as a mechanical engineer. At Enter, he was a key contributor to the development and application of the company’s two main software packages EfficiencyMAPTM (EMAP) and GateCycle. He served as a lead developer for both packages and as the product manager for GateCycle.
Venetos holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
