Aries Ingenieria y Sistemas yesterday said it has completed site engineering works on a 50 MW concentrated solar power (CSP) complex in China.
Developer CGN Delingha Solar Energy Corporation contracted the Spanish last year after a competitive tender process.
The 50 MW solar thermal parabolic trough power plant is located in Delingha, capital of the Haixi Mongol and Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Qinghai province. By design, it will include a solar field of about 190 troughs along with a thermal storage in molten salts equivalent to 1300 MWh.
When operational, the power plant is expected to produce north of 200 GWh of clean electricity per year. Commissioning is expected next year.
Aries Ingenieria y Sistemas has participated in the construction of the Ouarzazate CSP complex in Morocco as well as in the Bokpoort project in South Africa.
