Dahua Shangyi 50MW tower CSP project was selected as one of China 1st batch of 20 pilot CSP projects last September. The project owner & developer Dahua Engineering Management Corporation made some introduction about the progress earlier this week.
Located in Shangyi Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, the project specific site has been finally confirmed under the great support from Zhangjiakou government. Till now, project grid connection application has been submitted and the biddings will be continuously opened starting from January 2018, and it is expected that the project will be formally constructed in April 2018.
When submitted to the National Energy Administration last September, the technology Dahua Shangyi 50MW CSP plant would take was water tower, however, after long-term and further research by the technology provider Electricity Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, it would be changed into creative reflecting molten salt tower CSP technology.
The solar field of this project is made up of 5085 heliostats. This project, with a total installed capacity of 50MW, is equipped with a heat storage system of 6 hours.
