Andalucia has reached a renewable energy share of 39% of the region’s total installed capacity, with green power plants generating 13,583 GWh of power annually.
According to the agency, some 49% of the total electricity produced via renewable sources is attributed to wind energy. Concentrated solar power (CSP) plants in Andalucia are responsible for 18% of the renewable energy mix, while the share of biomass is 13%.
Andalucia has reached a renewable energy share of 39% of the region’s total installed capacity, with green power plants generating 13,583 GWh of power annually.
As a comparison, seven years ago the renewable capacity share was only 13%, data from Agencia Andaluza de la Energia, quoted by Europa Press, showed.
The region at present relies on 6,107 MW installed capacity of renewable energy. Wind power is the forerunner with 3,324 MW, followed by solar thermal power technology with 997 MW and photovoltaic solar power at 883 MW.
