Australian Solar Energy Society was deeply concerned to hear the new Queensland Government was considering withdrawing funding from the important Solar Dawn concentrated solar thermal power project.
The Australian Solar Energy Society is seeking comment from clean energy industry members, following news that the Queensland Government is considering withdrawing funding from the Concentrated Solar Power Dawn project, a 250 MW concentrated solar thermal power plant set to be developed near Chinchilla in Queensland.
"Like many Australians, the Australian Solar Energy Society (AuSES) was deeply concerned to hear the new Queensland Government was considering withdrawing funding from the important Solar Dawn project," said AuSES.
AuSES has said it will raise this issue with the Queensland government shortly, and is calling for industry members to express their views on the importance of the project here.
"The Solar Dawn plant will be a major infrastructure project for Queensland, generating hundreds of local jobs and investment opportunities. It is also a world leading research and development and training project, which will help build Australia’s concentrated solar thermal industry capability," explained AuSES.
