The program still has 38 MW of PV and 497.5 MW of CSP yet to be commissioned under batch 1, as well as 350 MW of PV under batch 2.

IREDA reports that 255 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) and 2.5 MW of concentrating solar power (CSP) has been commissioned under the JNNSM’s phase 1 batch 1.
The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has released new information on the status of projects under the nation’s National Solar Mission (JNNSM), as well as plant load factor (PLF) data for participating plants.
Large-Scale PV, RPSSGP sub-programs responsible for most capacity. The greatest capacity has been commissioned under the Large-Scale PV sub-program, with IREDA reporting 125 MW in 25 projects.
Another 81.55 MW has been commissioned under the Rooftop PV and Small Solar Power Generation Program (RPSSGP), and a further 48 MW under the JNNSM’s Migration Scheme.
Commissioning of CSP is taking longer, with only one project partially commissioned at 2.5 MW out of 500 MW of projects approved.
- IREDA has also released PLF assessments for 16 projects in multiple Indian states, reporting a wide range between 3.17% and 18.83% for crystalline silicon technology, though all but two fell in the range of 15.55% to 18.83%. For thin-film plants, IRENA reports PLFs between 10.46% and 18.75%.
The highest rating for crystalline silicon technology was a plant in Chhattisgarh, and for thin-film a plant in Haryana. The lowest PLF assessments were for crystalline silicon plants in Orissa and Rajasthan, though the small sample sizes should be noted. IREDA is a division of India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
