The King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A. CARE) confirms the participation of five engineers at the International CSP Week to be held in Sevilla this November.
Saudi Arabia´s leading solar engineers will participate at CSP Today Enhanced Plant Engineering this November. This technical conference will run parallel to the traditional summit held by CSP Today in Sevilla, making it the largest International CSP focused conference with over 400 top executives in attendance.
Saudi Arabia is currently the most promising place for concentrated solar power. According to the CSP Today Global Tracker, Saudi Arabia’s solar resource, measured from its average annual sum of DNI, is 2,400kWh/m2/a.
In March 2012 K.A. Care announced its target to have 25 GW of CSP capacity installed by 2032, which generated high expectations from the CSP industry. Furthermore, in February this year they released a white paper that detailed the proposed competitive procurement process (CPP) of Saudi Arabia’s K.A. Care program. As a result of this leading developers have focused their attention on this exciting market and await the announcement of the opening of bids from K.A. Care.
At the International CSP Week on 12-13 November, participants will be able to network with engineers from K.A.CARE. In addition, representatives from ACWA Power, Saudi Arabia’s leading CSP developer, will be sharing their insights into the development of solar power in the country.
