The IFC partnered with Abengoa Solar in South Africa to provide an innovative financing package to support the construction of the region’s first concentrated-solar power (CSP) plants.
IFC is considering investing with ACWA Power in the 160 megawatt Noor 1 project, in Ouarzazate, Morocco, which is the largest concentrated solar power project in the developing world.
The plant will manufacture steel structures and metallic support structures for the cylindrical parabolic solar thermal collectors (CPC) and heliostats in concentrated solar power (CSP) projects.
