Alinta Energy and the ARENA’s announcement that they will pursue stand-alone Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology in their full feasibility study has been met with praise and overwhelming support.
The proposed concentrated solar power project (CSP) project would be based on Abengoa's tower technology.
ARENA announced on Wednesday it would contribute $1million to the study, with $1.2 million to come from Alinta and a further $123,000 from the state government.
The technology of CSP systems has reached a high level of commercial maturity and the level of deployment has been growing at around 40 per cent per year since 2005.
